The Founders Council


The founders council is the Centers highest authority, and directs the general policy direction of the Center and the achievement of its goals.

Purpose of forming the Founders Council

It became apparent that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia needed to take on a leading role in fighting disability and its causes. And due to the high financial cost of running research projects, it was vital to unity the resources of the public and private sector to ensure continued support for the Center so it can in turn continue to foster scientific research efforts, regardless of their duration.

Formation

The Center invited key philanthropic figures and entities, who were quick to answer the call by joining the Founders Council and pledging their support for its humanitarian mission through paying a donation fee of five million Saudi Riyals (SAR5,000,000).

The first meeting of the Founders Council

The first meeting of the Founders Council took place under the royal patronage of His Royal Highness the late Prince Sultan bin Abdulazziz, accompanied by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulazziz in his capacity as President of the Center, and His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulazziz, chairman o the board of trustees. The meeting was help in Prince Sultan's Humanitarian City on the 18th of April, 2006.
