Ayman Al-Sulaiman


Dr. Al-Sulaiman is the first Saudi Genetic Counselor in the Middle East, a product and an employee of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre since June 1994. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the College of Applied Medical Sciences at King Saud University, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (1993), Certificate of Completion of One Year Internship at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (1994), Completion of a one (1) year training program in Cytogenetics at Duke University Medical Centre (1996), Certificate of Completion at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in the program of Cytogenetics (1996), The National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel (1997), and he obtained his MSc degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of Manchester School of Medicine, UK in December 2000. He earned his PhD degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of Leeds School of Medicine, Leeds, UK in Sept. 2004. At present, he works as a associate scientist of the Department of Genetics in the Research Centre at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre.

Dr. Sulaiman has published four (6) booklets and 26 pamphlets as related to genetic counseling. He has a joint appointment with the Department of Medical Genetics and Ministry of health k. He has several publications and is actively collaborating with other departments of the hospital. He is also a member of Saudi Pediatric Association; Psychosocial Oncology Committee of KFSH&RC and a member of Family Village Committee at Prince Salman Centre for Disability Research.
