Marjorie Meyer Palmer, M.A., is a speech Pathologist and Pediatric Feeding Specialist in private practice in the San Francisco Bay area of California, USA.  Ms. Palmer is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California-San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. She provides oral feeding consultation for infants in a number of Intensive Care Nurseries throughout the bay area.     Ms. Palmer is certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment and has both published and lectured throughout the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Asia on neonatal feeding disorders, sensory versus motor aspects of oral feeding, and weaning from tube onto oral feeds.  She is the author of NOMAS® (Neonatal Oral-Motor Assessment Scale) which differentiates normal, disorganized, and dysfunctional sucking patterns.  She teaches the certification course in the administration and scoring of the NOMAS® on both the east and west coasts of the U.S.  To date NOMAS® certified professionals are represented in 36 states and 13 foreign countries.  Ms. Palmer has also developed the Palmer Protocol for Sensory-Based Weaning to aid young children in their transition from tube onto oral feeding.
